Wonder Boven Wonder

Hello!
I am Stefan Paridaen, mentalist. You may know me from the VRT program Wonder Boven Wonder, where I, together with two mentalist friends, surprised unsuspecting Flemish people with magical and unforgettable moments through our mentalism techniques.
As a mentalist I focus on the way people think, how we make choices, and the patterns behind those thoughts and decisions. I am fascinated by the idea of whether and how we can influence or even predict these choices.
To achieve this, I use various techniques, but what drives me most is my interest in the hidden aspects of our psychology and the complex functioning of our brain.
My shows are all about entertainment. But in my lectures and corporate sessions I delve deeper into the techniques of mentalism and use them as a tool to gain insight into the fascinating world of human psychology.
View the various options and formulas with which I can give your event a unique and unforgettable touch.

See you soon!

The Show
Stefan plays more than 120 shows a year

Stefan Paridaen, together with Kurt Demey former Belgian mentalism champion, left a lasting impression with his impressive act that brought him to the final of Belgium's Got Talent.
You may also know him from the VRT programme Wonder Boven Wonder, where he and mentalists Piet and Kurt enchanted unsuspecting Flemish people with unforgettable and magical moments.
In his live show, Stefan shows how he reads minds, predicts choices and subtly influences people. His style is unique: dry, sharp and with a touch of organized chaos. Stefan explores the boundaries of our predictability and challenges you to discover whether our choices are really as free as we think—or whether we are all, without knowing it, susceptible to influence.
This is no ordinary show, but a humorous, interactive show in which the audience is central. Stefan brings world-class mentalism and lets you experience what it would be like if someone could really read your thoughts.

The Illusion of Control
Why letting go, chance, and improvisation are essential in a world that is becoming less and less predictable
The Illusion of Control is a hybrid keynote and mentalism experience about adaptability, uncertainty, and human behavior.
In a world that is becoming increasingly unpredictable, this keynote demonstrates how organizations can better navigate change. Using a “bad frisbee” as a metaphor, the audience discovers how our brain overestimates control and why chance is not the enemy, but a catalyst for insight and innovation.
This session makes it tangible why improvisation is becoming more valuable than perfection, how chaos can provide direction, and how our decisions are shaped by unconscious biases. What initially appears to be a mistake often turns out to be a new possibility depending on the frame through which we view it.
Not a theoretical lecture, but an immersive experience where psychology, storytelling, and live mentalism converge.
Participants leave with a refreshed perspective on flexibility, a sharper awareness of their thinking patterns, and a practical sense of how to act more resiliently in uncertain times.
A keynote about flexibility, uncertainty, and human behavior
delivered through live mentalism
The Illusion of Control shows how a simple frisbee perfectly captures modern working life: unpredictable, influenced by chance, and full of opportunity for those willing to move with it.
In this interactive keynote, teams discover why control is often a story we tell ourselves and how chance, chaos, and improvisation can actually lead to innovation, clarity, and stronger collaboration.
Through insights from behavioral psychology, real business examples, and mentalism that makes the message felt rather than just understood, participants gain a fresh perspective on decision-making, learning, and collaboration in times of change.
The 5 Lessons of The Illusion of Control
1. Chance is not a disruption but a source of innovation.
Unexpected events open doors no plan could have predicted.
2. Improvisation is more valuable than perfection.
In changing circumstances, those who can adapt win, not those who cling to the ideal plan.
3. Chaos contains information.
Mistakes, failures, and unexpected turns reveal exactly where growth is possible.
4. Randomness is sometimes more honest than our own brain.
Our decisions are constantly influenced by bias, while chance can offer a more neutral perspective.
5. “Bad” is often misunderstood potential.
What seems worthless in one frame can be brilliant in another. Innovation begins with reinterpretation.
